Will 2012 Be The Year For Women In Tech?

If 2011 was the year for talk surrounding women in tech, here’s hoping 2012 will be the year for action. Most of the people I met hardly know any names of women who sore high in the field of tech whereas names such as Bill Gates,Steve Jobes, mark Zukerberg is all over the place. Sheryl Sandberg, the COO of Facebook, is perhaps the most well-known of the lot, but she’s not the only one. When faced with the choices of learning databases or teaching, girls are selecting the latter — and it’s stifling innovation and the pursuit of knowledge. There are simply too few women mentors and leaders who are committed to encouraging girls to develop a natural curiosity towards these fields. And its no wonder that the list of powerful women in Tech is not so lengthy as compared to that of men'. Every issue of Tech magazine this year carried some news about steve and the facebook guy and the blackberry guy.
So I hope 2012 will be a year of Women in Tech.
Get ready for IPv6:

It's an IPv4 world today, but the days of IPv4 are numbered.
As of February 2011, the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA) had allocated all remaining public IP address ranges to the five global regional Internet registries. A quick look at this IPv4 Exhaustion Counter below shows a total of 13.24 /8 (8-bit) IPv4 address ranges remaining, for a total of less than 3,400 remaining unallocated IPv4 addresses. Essentially, this means
IPv4 is played out.

Apple tv coming up with  magnificient curved screen:

There has lately been widespread speculation about Apple jumping into the TV market.I recently read that steve jobs wished to create an integrated television set…that would be seamlessly synced with all of your devices and with iCloud !! And here it is..not a full fleged one though.. “iScreen”  showing a spectacular curved glass display is not a leak of an Apple design, but it’s a concept of what the rumored Apple TV .It will become reality, possibly sometime between now and 2013.

Samsung's Secret Weapon Against Apple:

Samsung is developing a new technology that could finally give it a significant edge over the iPhone. However, it’s not an entirely new technology, but rather a more polished form of an existing technology that few consumers have had the chance to experience: a flexible display. Flexible displays have been hyped as the future of cell phones and mobile technology for the past several years. But it wasn’t until now that consumers may finally see the true potential of what a flexible display can do.That said, both Samsung and Nokia are planning to launch new devices with a flexible screen in the coming year. Apple isn’t going to jump on the flexible display bandwagon unless it feels that there is a need for a bendable iPhone. If flexible displays do well for mobile devices, it’s only a matter of time before they make their way to computer monitors, and eventually larger screens, which would probably come from TV makers like Panasonic.

Endiran-movie review

When much awaited endiran-the robo releases all over the world. not only people in India , but also everyone around the world s gripped by endiran fever. Tons and tons of milk, huge cutouts of rajini throng the city on the date of movie release.Fans throng the streets of theatres releasing the movie. people from Australia posted . Comments about the movie since it was first released in Australia ,then New Zealand ,Japan followed by India.

The producers have put in 100 crores of money.Rajini even at his 60s doesn’t seemed to have lost his spirit. after long time the super star comes in role of anti hero. the movie doesn’t contain the usual punch dialogues of Rajini. the focus is more on the story. every song in the movie is outstanding. 'kaadhal anukkal' is breezy and melodious. the song 'irumbile oru irudhayam' highlights the effects when the robot falls in Love and makes you shake your body to the beat and so does the song 'kilimanjaro'.aiyshwarya's movements are outstanding. the first half of the movie had good comedies and the movie gained momentum towards the end. the scene where several rajinis join together to gulp a car and rest of the graphics attracted the young audience. Viramuthu’s lines adds extra spice to the movie.

The movie is a bold attempt by Shankar. The director has used Rajini as a weapon to bring out some of the evils in the society and to highlight the psychology of the human mind. I think the trademark of Shankar dominant in every part of the movie. And its no wonder the movie has earned 160Rs crore in the first week after its release and the movie is a feast for Rajini fans.

Road to Thiagaraja

I've completed 12th standard and now am a college student. For the past two months, I've been writing many entrance exams . I wasn't sure of decent cutoff in my board exams and that's the reason why i wrote those entrance exams. The day i got my board exam result turned up to be an unforgettable day in my life.well, i call it a red letter day.more than anything i was glad i could enter a dote 1 college which happen to be my mom's dream. I personally wished to get into P.S.G college of engineering which is my goal right from the day i saw people talking greatly of my cousin who joined there.I look up to that college as a perfect place to learn and to grow.I hardly take any interest when people at my home think about putting me in TCE.
Most of the people I meet ask " what is your plan? whats your total?". The week that followed the results publish , I was busy partying. They way people looked at me changed. I felt proud ,worthy, confident. picking up the right college was my top priority. then my cousins came over for vacation and the holidays started moving faster.
I gathered enough information about the colleges I had in mind. my mom accompanied me to the TNEA counseling. the minute I entered anna univ i caught sight of a sea of over whelming parents and students. every single parent seemed to be more exited than the candidate. since I was in the safer side my mom wasn't tensed .all the candidates with the cut off of 197.25 were asked to gather in a hall to check the availability of seats in various colleges. I was dumb struck when i found that the CSE seats in P.S.G turned zero.i was so upset when i realised that i couldnt make it to my dream college.even when i write this part of the article i weep for i cant make it thru. after i lost P.S.G i dint show any interest in the rest of the colleges ,for all seemed the same to me ,whether SSN or TCE , it dint make a big difference .when it was my turn to pick my home for the next 4 years i went with my mom's wish(atleast she'll be happy). At first I found it hard to imagine me as a student of TCE .Then I heard from many of my close friends that they have chosen TCE . I got two reasons to be happy. 1.I can be in my home town for 4 more years with my mother. 2.I get to be with my best friends. I could hardly think of any other reason to rejoice. later I was 'okay' with that.

First day of my college was in front of me.I preferred to speak in monosyllable in the class.college atmosphere wasnt much different from my school.most of the people there were familiar to me.I dint even take any interest in knowing the names of the girls next to me nor any other person in my section.then i willingly went on for the post of class representative and now every thing is fine around me or atleast I am looking at things that way.

One might have seen a celebration , a religious one ,which happens within a family or sometimes within a group of families sometimes. but i happen to be a part of a celebration which marks the feast of st . Antony in a village called marungipaati ,few miles away from karaikudi.there the whole village gathered to celebrate that event. there every single person seemed to like they were related. they were so courteous .
i along with my aunt family went to the church where the Thanksgiving was planned. people there aren't rich but they all came in the best outfit they had. every one's face bore a big smile. all the kids there were geared up. after the church got over , different kinds of fireworks went on for more than an hour. Everyone wished whoever they saw. many came up to us to talk. I have already been there when I was like 10, that is many years back. But they could remember me so well. then I walked along with my brother in few of those streets.many people arranged dinner for the rest of the village. we went to one of the houses for dinner and walked back to the car to head to my house when I recognised few things that one can find in a humble village like the one I visited and not in any other metropolitan cities or towns. they were contended with whatever they have and they were so nice to every human around with no regrets.so people from cities when to happen to visit a village, look around, u will find people with hearts overflowing with love and am sure u will have lot of good things to learn.

Windows -Vs- Mac

I am a windows os user. I am one amoung few million users of windows os.I find many youngsters are crazy about apple's gadgets like me. many people started speaking 'which is best?'. It started many months back and never concluded. I dont think one can ever conclude which is best.

The Windows-versus-Mac debate is meaningless for those who have worked on both platforms at least once.I would say that right from the beginning steve jobs was clever enough to design gadgets in such a way to draw the attention of every teen . every innovation of apple carries something new. thats because apple makes both hardware and software. It's because while Mac is the good egg, Windows is the same chick that's been trying to break out of its shell since 1985.It may be glitzy and boast of novel features, but what Windows 7 offers ,Mac OS users have taken it for granted for a long time.

It might surprise those who swear by market trends where Windows is the clear winner (the Windows to Mac market share ratio is about 8:2). few Mac users comment that they have no qualms about it and that they are a small, happy family, which takes pride in quality and doesn't shout from the rooftops about innovations.

how many of you know that OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard), launched on August 28, 2009 ? it is an operating system custom-designed for the advanced technology inside. And it is the world's most advanced operating system.
Don't get me wrong. I am not anti-Microsoft.

I just feel that apple has already come up with new technologies for its users which microsoft will consider it in W10, probably few years later.Windows learns from its mistakes and comes out with a less-erratic product each time; the apple creates new errors in its laboratories, solves them and makes innovation available for public use.
